A drink-driver who lost control of his car on a treacherous mountain road, killing a 15-year-old passenger, has been jailed. Stephen Morris, 21, hit a pot- hole in his Peugeot GTI and careered down banking on the single-lane road between Tredegar and Markham during the early hours of August 26 last year.

A man who died in a crash near Chepstow has been named as Edward Kangalee from Monmouth. The 24-year old was the passenger in the collision on the B4293 Devauden to Chepstow at about 0025 BST on Saturday. The driver of the car had to be treated at hospital following the incident. crashes due to inappropriate speed. |
There are many reasons why young drivers are more likely to be
in crashes than more experienced drivers.
The bulletin uses personal injury road accident data for Wales and compares personal injury accidents in Wales that involve young drivers (aged between 17 and 25 inclusive) with those involving other drivers. The figures cover accidents up to the year 2005 as a whole. Some of the main findings are shown below:
